Large-Distance Behavior of Particle Correlations in the Two-Dimensional Two-Component Plasma

چکیده
The model under consideration is a two-dimensional two-component plasma, i.e., a continuous system of two species of pointlike particles of opposite charges ±1, interacting through the logarithmic Coulomb interaction. Using the exact results for the form-factors of an equivalent Euclidean sine-Gordon theory, we derive the largedistance behavior of the pair correlation functions between charged particles. This asymptotic behavior is checked on a few lower orders of its β-expansion (β is the inverse temperature) around the Debye-Hückel limit β → 0, and at the free-fermion point β = 2 at which the collapse of positive-negative pairs of charges occurs.

A Study of the Rockfill Material Behavior in Large-Scale Tests
Inspecting the behavior of the rockfill materials is of significant importance in analysis of rockfill dams. Since the dimensions of grains in such materials are greater than the conventional sizes suitable for soil mechanics tests, it is necessary to experimentally study them in specific large-scale apparatuses. In this research, the behavior of rockfill materials in two large rockfill dams co...
متن کاملMechanical behaviour of motion for the two-dimensional monolayer system
In this paper we study the dynamics of the 2D-motion of a particle of monolayer. First we consider the usual physical time component and the plan manifold R2, having the polar coordinates. Then a geometric approach to nonholonomic constrained mechanical systems is applied to a problem from the two dimensional geometric dynamics of the Langmuir-Blodgett monolayer. We consider a constraint sub...
متن کاملSurface correlations for two - dimensional Coulomb fluids in a disc February 1 , 2008
After a brief review of previous work, two exactly solvable two-dimensional models of a finite Coulomb fluid in a disc are studied. The charge correlation function near the boundary circle is computed. When the disc radius is large compared to the bulk correlation length, a correlation function of the surface charge density can be defined. It is checked, on the solvable models, that this correl...

Abstract The accurate calculations of adsorption equilibrium for multicomponent gas systems are of great importance in many applications. In this paper, five two-dimensional equations of state 2D-EOS, i.e. Van der Waals, Eyring, Zhou-Ghasem-Robinson, Soave-Redlich-Kwong and Peng-Robinson, were examined to find out their abilities to predict adsorption equilibrium for pure and multi-component ga...
متن کاملWhen the classical & quantum mechanical considerations hint to a single point; a microscopic particle in a one dimensional box with two infinite walls and a linear potential inside it
In this paper we have solved analytically the Schrödinger equation for a microscopic particle in a one-dimensional box with two infinite walls, which the potential function inside it, has a linear form. Based on the solutions of this special quantum mechanical system, we have shown that as the quantum number approaches infinity the expectation values of microscopic particle position and square ...
